Oaxaca Governor Announces Cabinet Changes

After winning the recall election with 58% of the vote, the governor of Oaxaca, Salomón Jara, announced this Monday that he will begin making changes to his cabinet to 'relaunch' his administration for the remaining years of his term. These changes will not be limited to just names and officials; there will also be a reorientation of public policies, programs, and actions on the most important issues for the local population. 'I am a person who knows how to listen and have the humility to accept that we still have a lot of work to do to meet social expectations,' the official assured. He added that 'these will not be cosmetic changes, but an adjustment in line with citizen demands.' Starting this Tuesday, he will begin a series of modifications to his government team to revitalize and strengthen his management. 'Although we still have majority support for our project and our work and results are recognized, there are various voices telling us that it is necessary to make changes and adjust some of our strategies,' he explained. The governor also stated that he will deepen the austerity policy of his administration and the fight against corruption, another of the main demands of the citizens and one of the central axes of the Morena party's discourse.
