Claudia Ivett Rodríguez, former commissioner of the Milpillas community and president of the local branch of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) in the municipality of Ometepec, was killed in an armed attack at her business located on the federal highway in the Costa Chica region of Guerrero. The violent incident occurred on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, around 22:30 hours. According to initial reports, the victim was surprised by armed attackers while she was in her grocery store. Rodríguez Estrada also served as commissioner during the administration of former mayor Efrén Adame Montalván. Personnel from the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) went to the scene to carry out the corresponding legal procedures. The news broke on Thursday, March 12, through Senator Manuel Añorve Baños, coordinator of the PRI caucus, who disseminated what happened on his social networks. The party leadership stated that insecurity affects all municipalities and demanded that the speeches made on International Women's Day be turned into concrete actions to clarify cases like this.
