In the municipality of Otumba, State of Mexico, there is Burrolandia, a theme park dedicated to the protection and care of the Mexican donkey. Recently, it was reported that four of its animals were stolen, two donkeys and two horses, sparking a movement for their recovery.
In a statement, Burrolandia announced that the two stolen horses were located with the support of local, state authorities, and the National Guard in the town of Nopaltepec. They are currently at Burrolandia, but two donkeys remain missing: Felipe and Julieta.
The park thanked for the dissemination on social networks and the support from various institutions and public figures, such as the president of TV Azteca, Ricardo Salinas Pliego, who ironically commented on the theft. Although the identity of those responsible is unknown, the search for the remaining donkeys continues.
Authorities confirmed the finding of the two horses, identified as Lucero and Spirit. Although part of the situation has been resolved, Burrolandia highlighted that the search continues to find Felipe and Julieta, who are still missing. The herd and the park team long for their swift return.
Since 2006, Burrolandia has been open to the public, receiving visitors interested in the protection and conservation of this species. The community remains involved in the effort to find the missing donkeys and restore harmony to the theme park.
