Death toll from pyrotechnics explosion in northern Mexico rises to three

The death toll from an explosion caused by pyrotechnics in the municipality of Pesquería, Nuevo León state, northern Mexico, rose to three dead and six injured this Saturday, according to state authorities. Nuevo León Civil Protection (PCNL) specified that two people died at the scene, their identities not yet confirmed. The third fatal victim was identified as 15-year-old Ingrid Daina Macías Ruiz, who died while receiving medical attention at a hospital. The six injured were identified as Ana Elizaberth Rodríguez, 39; Jaime Martínez Ramírez, 29; Melany Ana Sofía Cisneros Rodríguez, 1 year and 6 months; Dayra Jimena García Zapata, 15; Luka Azael Delgado Rodríguez, 3; and Krisna Alizee Delgado Rodríguez, 16. PCNL clarified that the fire reported Friday night in a home in the Olmos neighborhood of Pesquería spread to other dwellings, leaving two houses completely collapsed, two partially collapsed, and partial damage to 44 others. It was also reported that PCNL agents, firefighters, and various rescue crews had controlled the multiple fires caused by the initial explosion, and as of this morning, they were working on debris removal at the affected homes.
