The government of Pluma Hidalgo expressed its deep regret in an official statement over the tragic incident in which a brave municipal police officer lost his life. The statement says: "We deeply regret the tragic event in which a brave element of the Municipal Police lost his life. The municipal government has formally requested the Attorney General of the State for 'all support and immediate action so that this attack on the public peace of Pluma Hidalgo does not go unpunished.'" In the statement, the authorities also expressed solidarity with the family of the deceased officer and all members of the police force, and reaffirmed their "firm commitment to the security, justice, and tranquility of our people."
