The Government of Jalisco announced the incorporation of seven electric units into the public transport system in Puerto Vallarta, as part of the state strategy to strengthen electromobility. The units will begin operating from the first week of May at points such as the Medina Ascencio corridor, the road to Ixtapa, La Marina, and the University Center of the Coast (CUCosta) of the University of Guadalajara (UDG). Governor Pablo Lemus affirmed that with the objective of fulfilling the promise to boost the best public transport system in the Mexican Republic, important actions are being taken to improve the service, not only in the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara (AMG), but throughout the state. "Another good piece of news for the public transport systems of the state of Jalisco. Today we want to present the new electric units, this is the new electromobility system that will operate in Puerto Vallarta, on the Medina Ascencio Boulevard, on the entire tourist corridor of our beloved Puerto Vallarta," stated the governor. "We are presenting the 100 percent electric units of the Puerto Vallarta electromobility system that, starting in May, will run along the Avenue. These are the first units in Mexico with these specifications that will circulate in Puerto Vallarta," added López Zepeda. University students celebrate the incorporation of the units. Fernanda Romero Delgado, president of the University Student Federation (FEU), indicated that, just as in the AMG, she celebrated the arrival of these electric units in Puerto Vallarta, and noted that they are adhering to the ten-point commitments that the FEU made with the State Government. "We celebrate this fulfilled agreement of this ten-point plan that we delivered, that we discussed, because the community of Puerto Vallarta told us that the units are not enough, that they don't have air conditioning or are simply in poor condition [...] It is a great advance for mobility," expressed Romero Delgado. The authorities highlighted that these works are part of an investment announced in October 2025 for 2,305 million pesos for the acquisition of 203 units, including buses and trains, aimed at strengthening the mobility system in the state. "These first seven units are from the Yutong brand," detailed Amilcar López Zepeda, General Director of the Urban Electric Train System (Siteur). "These units will have air conditioning, systems for charging cell phones, are 100% accessible, and feature a specialized camera system so the driver can monitor the operation in real time."
