The electoral process for the election of various positions in the Federal Judiciary 2024-2025 in Jalisco is underway. The First Drawing of Lots will take place on February 6 and is aimed at individuals born in the months of February and May. A total of 55 positions will be elected, including 32 magistrates and 23 judges.

The delegate of the INE in Jalisco, Luis Zamora Cobián, emphasized the importance of having an updated Voter List before February 10 to carry out the Extraordinary Electoral Process. The INE calls on citizens to participate in this election modality and provides facilities to carry out electoral procedures, such as registering in the registry, correcting information, or requesting a replacement for the voter ID card.

In case of loss or theft of the voter ID, a replacement can be requested until February 28, maintaining the same information except for the photo, signature, and issuance date. Additionally, from March 1 to May 20, a reprint can be requested in case of loss. The Local Electoral Organization Officer, David Kirshbaum Alemán, mentioned that there are plans to install 4,140 Sectional Polling Stations in Jalisco, with the possibility of reaching 5,000 if a 20% budget increase is approved.

Owners of private residences are called upon to facilitate the installation of polling stations, and thanks are given to the Ministry of Public Education and the University of Guadalajara for providing school spaces as voting centers. The Training and Civic Education Electoral Officer, Luis Antonio Sánchez Cazola, reported that the lists of staff who will oversee the integration of the Sectional Polling Stations have been approved, with a total of 175 Electoral Supervisors and 1,038 Assistant Electoral Trainers in Jalisco.

In the words of Zamora Cobián, the main challenge of the process is to provide certainty to citizens in the election of these positions.
