The detention was carried out with the collaboration of several security agencies, such as the Secretariat of Citizen Security and Protection (SSPC), the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar), the Secretariat of National Defense (Defensa), the Attorney General's Office (FGR), the National Guard (GN), and the municipal police of Puerto Vallarta, according to a joint statement.

According to unofficial sources, the detainees are Aaron Wilkie Murphy, 51 years old, and Hong Thoa Thi Nguyen, known as “Thao Murphy,” 45 years old. Both have extradition orders and are considered priority targets by the United States government. Thanks to cooperation between security agencies, investigations, and surveillance patrols, the area where these two individuals wanted by the U.S. were moving in Puerto Vallarta was identified.

During security patrols carried out as part of this operation and upon confirming the identity of the suspects, the security forces proceeded to detain the foreigners. Subsequently, they were informed of their constitutional rights and were placed at the disposal of the corresponding Public Ministry to determine their legal situation and carry out the necessary procedures.
