The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, announced federal support for the project "Batán, water for all" and the construction of the Mexico-Querétaro train during her visit to Querétaro.

During the morning conference, the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, assured that the project “Batán, water for all” will have the support of the federal government. This occurred during her visit to the state of Querétaro to commemorate the 108th anniversary of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States. Sheinbaum stated: “We are going to support it, it will have the permits very soon from Conagua and all the permits required for the development of this project.” Although she did not detail whether federal resources would be allocated for its development.

In that same event, other important projects for the entity were highlighted, such as strengthening the electrical energy transmission network, the construction of two vehicular bridges in San Juan del Río, and especially, the start of construction of the Mexico-Querétaro train. Sheinbaum mentioned that conversations have been taking place with Governor Mauricio Kuri to strengthen energy transmission to the Sierra and promote the growth of the industrial sector.

Regarding the Mexico-Querétaro Train project, it was reported that studies are being conducted and various technical aspects are being reviewed. It is expected that the construction of the train will begin in April of this year and will have an estimated duration of between 2 and a half to 3 years.

In terms of housing, the construction of 16,000 homes in Querétaro is projected as part of the national housing strategy. This will generate 72,000 direct jobs. The state government is looking for land to build social interest housing. Additionally, it was mentioned that 64,000 people in the state could benefit from the freezing or acknowledgment of the total payment of their loans, as part of a national review.

After the security cabinet meeting, Governor Mauricio Kuri's work regarding security in Querétaro was praised. Sheinbaum emphasized that incidents similar to the case of Los Cantaritos have not been recorded thanks to the coordination between the Navy, the Ministry of National Defense, the state team, and the willingness of the governor.
