Protest Against Auto Dealership in Reynosa

Alejandra Ceccopieri, a young doctor from Reynosa, Tamaulipas, has attracted public attention by staging a protest at a car dealership in the city. The reason for her demonstration is due to the issues she has experienced with the new truck she purchased in November 2023, which the dealership has failed to resolve.

On November 24, 2023, Alejandra bought a ZR Elegance Red Vans truck. Since then, she has faced problems such as the leaking of personal information on social media by a dealership employee, as well as the revelation that the truck was sold to her with the minimum amount of oil in the gearbox, which caused damage to the transmission.

Despite her multiple visits to the dealership seeking a solution, Alejandra never received a satisfactory answer, leading her to decide to protest publicly by blocking the service entrance of the MG dealership in Reynosa, demanding a solution.

In her testimony, Alejandra explained: “I am currently outside MG, since 7:40 in the morning; I bought a truck on November 24, 2023, it is a ZR Elegance Red Vans, the truck is already failing, and I brought it here for a forced march.”

In addition to the vehicle's issues, Alejandra has reported mistreatment by the dealership's employees. She has continued to make monthly payments for a vehicle that does not function properly, and despite filing a complaint with the Federal Consumer Attorney's Office (Profeco), her problems have not been resolved satisfactorily.

As a show of solidarity, hundreds of people have approached the dealership to support Alejandra, bringing food, blankets, and even mariachis. Through social media, various groups have expressed their backing for the young doctor, and it is expected that the protest will continue until the dealership provides a solution to her demands. Alejandra's struggle has generated broad support in the Reynosa community, where many consider it unjust that she was sold a defective vehicle and that the dealership has not taken responsibility for the matter.
