Investigation into Alleged Extermination Camp in Reynosa

Thanks to an anonymous call, a discovery was made in Reynosa that alerted about the existence of a supposed extermination camp. The Tamaulipas Prosecutor's Office issued a statement detailing that during a search carried out on March 10, a construction site was identified where construction materials and tools were found, as well as a box type oven with a 'Doves of Peace' cross on its door, emblem of a well-known funeral home on the border.

In the inspection carried out by the Prosecutor's Office on the property, no human remains, unpleasant odors, or evidence suggesting the presence of a crematorium or illegal incineration area were detected. In the same context, an operation was carried out that allowed the location of bone fragments in three areas of Reynosa.

The Prosecutor's Office reported that in the first area, 20 bone remains were found scattered over a space of 40 square meters, while in the second site, located near the Colinas del Real neighborhood and with the collaboration of the 'Love for the Disappeared' Collective, 14 mounds of bone fragments were found.

In response to the allegations of the 'Love for the Disappeared' Collective regarding the supposed existence of a 'narcopit', the Tamaulipas Prosecutor's Office firmly denied that it was an 'extermination camp' or a 'clandestine crematorium', indicating that it is a construction of a funeral home. It is important to note that this discovery comes shortly after the finding of a training camp of the CJNG in Jalisco with alarming indications.

The located bone remains were transferred to the Forensic Medical Service for a multidisciplinary analysis with the aim of obtaining their DNA and identifying to which individuals they belong. The findings in Reynosa are currently undergoing evaluation and analysis by the forensic team.
