A group of civilian individuals, allegedly belonging to the April 4 Workers' Union and SETSHA 003, vandalized the municipal palace of Salina Cruz, Oaxaca. This occurred due to the lack of response to their demands and the dismissal of workers by the municipal president, Daniel Méndez.

The work stoppage by the unionized workforce began on March 6, with the burning of a municipal truck and acts of vandalism against traffic police vehicles. Additionally, they caused damage to the municipal auditorium. Workers claim that Méndez has dismissed staff without justification and refuses to reinstate them.

Municipal services remain suspended, and garbage is piling up in the streets of the city due to this work stoppage. The municipal president condemned the acts of vandalism committed at the Municipal Palace.

A meeting was held at the Arbitration Board for Employees in Service of the Powers of the State of Oaxaca (JAESPO) to resolve the union conflict. This meeting will include municipal president Daniel Méndez Sosa, representatives from the SETSHA and April 4 unions, as well as the Secretary of Government, Jesús Romero López. As a condition for the meeting, the immediate return of the Municipal Palace and the garbage trucks was agreed upon to restore services in the city.
