New Qrobús app transforms transportation in San Juan del Río

The Mobility Agency of the State of Querétaro (Ameq) has presented the new version 3.0 of its Qrobús mobile application, which includes significant technological advances. Users will now be able to link their cards to the app to generate QR codes that will allow them to enter the units without needing to carry the physical card. The application will also allow the purchase of digital tickets for a single trip or for the new "Aero Qrobús" system.

The director of Ameq, Gerardo Cuanalo, mentioned that the measure will come into effect in the second half of the year, once validators are installed in the units, recharge points are enabled, and cards are distributed to beneficiaries. The new app will feature a virtual prepaid card, digital tickets, and the option for instant top-ups through NFC technology. It will also include an artificial intelligence assistant, visualization of recharge centers, improvements in route search, and selection of favorite routes.

Additionally, four routes that will form the "Aero Qrobús" system to Querétaro International Airport were revealed: one will depart from Alameda, another from Sonterra, another from Antea, and one more from Centro Cívico. Regarding the preferential fare of 2 pesos for San Juan del Río, the start of a call for registration of up to 28,000 users has been announced, including students, people with disabilities, seniors, medical professionals, nurses, police officers, and educational staff, among others. This fare will cover 42 routes and 400 units in San Juan del Río, in addition to 47 units on two QroVan routes.

Other highlights of the new platform include the possibility of instantly recharging physical cards through NFC technology, registration using a Google account to streamline data entry, and the availability of the Unidos preferential fare for public transport in San Juan del Río. The virtual card will operate as an alternative option to the physical prepaid card.
