The State Attorney General's Office for Environmental Protection and Urban Development (PEPMADU) closed a company in San Juan del Río following several citizen complaints about bad odors, air pollution, and improper waste management. However, the company has a period of 5 days to present its defense arguments, and if it fails to demonstrate compliance with environmental law, it will not be allowed to resume its activities.
In an official statement, it was reported that the company has the aforementioned period to present its arguments and defend its case. In the meantime, its operations will remain suspended and will be subject to an administrative procedure according to the State Environmental Code. During the inspection, it was discovered that the company did not have a Special Waste Management Plan issued by the Secretariat of Sustainable Development (SEDESU), which evidences a violation of environmental regulations.
Additionally, inconsistencies were identified between the types of waste declared and those found on the premises, as well as differences in the quantities generated. The measure taken aims to protect the health of citizens and preserve the environment, ensuring that companies operate responsibly and sustainably. Therefore, compliance with the regulations will continue to be monitored to guarantee a safe and healthy environment for all.
