The mayor of San Juan del Río, Roberto Cabrera, stated that his government has established a coordinated strategy with federal and state authorities to carry out raids in locations identified for hydrocarbon theft in the region. He emphasized that they closely monitor the investigations of the Attorney General's Office regarding the profanation of Pemex pipelines in the local territory on a daily basis.
Regarding the reports about the recruitment of young people by 'La Flaca,' the mayor mentioned that his administration implements social prevention programs and social fabric reconstruction daily to prevent the participation of the population in illicit activities. He also pointed out that soon the municipality will host the Peace Table, which will include various authorities and mayors from the region.
"What we seek is to maintain peace and tranquility by promoting positive values in families," the mayor noted, highlighting the importance of citizen reports to achieve the seizure of illegal hydrocarbons in operations involving all three levels of government. Cabrera stressed that, despite being an area with Pemex pipelines, the region has made progress in security matters.
These statements arose after it was revealed that 'La Flaca,' one of the victims of an attack in Los Cantaritos, was involved in fuel theft in the area. The mayor acknowledged that the risk of fuel theft proliferation is latent due to the presence of Pemex pipelines in the demarcation.
