Legal process against wrestler Alberto del Río continues

The legal process against Alberto del Río 'El Patrón' continues to advance following the complaint for alleged domestic violence filed by his wife, Mary Carmen Rodríguez Lucero. According to the previously reported context, the incidents would have occurred on April 6th in the Lomas del Tec subdivision in San Luis Potosí, where the victim requested assistance through 911 after suffering physical attacks. The next day, on Tuesday, April 7th, Mary Carmen went to the specialized prosecutor's office to formally ratify the complaint, which allowed the judicial process to continue. If proven, the penalty could be increased to up to 20 years in prison, in line with legal frameworks that sanction violence against women with greater severity. The victim presented visible injuries, which were confirmed by experts and agents. This type of medical and expert evidence is often decisive in violence cases, as it allows for substantiating the severity of the facts before the Public Ministry and subsequently before a judge. Initial hearing and possible precautionary measures The next step in the process will be the initial hearing, which will take place at the La Pila penitentiary. In this instance, a judge will analyze the elements presented by the Prosecutor's Office to determine the legal situation of the wrestler, including whether he can face the process in freedom or if a more severe precautionary measure, such as pretrial detention, will be imposed. This decision will depend on factors such as flight risk, the seriousness of the crime, and the protection of the victim. The sanctions he could face In the event that Alberto del Río is found guilty, the legislation contemplates a penalty that could range from one to seven years in prison, in addition to a fine equivalent to 700 days of the UMA (Unit of Measurement for Updating). However, the scenario could be significantly aggravated if the authorities determine that the aggression was motivated by gender-based reasons.
