The National Seismological Service (SSN) reported a magnitude 5.2 earthquake with its epicenter in San Marcos, Guerrero, which was felt in some areas of Mexico City. The tremor occurred at 4:17 PM. The Ministry of Integral Risk Management and Civil Protection of Guerrero activated the action protocols to provide support in response to this situation. The governor of the state, Evelyn Salgado, urged the population to contact emergency numbers if necessary.

Regarding the Seismic Alert System, no alert was issued for this earthquake, as the estimated energy in the first seconds did not exceed the established levels for activation. In another related event, a second earthquake of magnitude 5.0 was recorded nearly 20 minutes after the first.

On another note, the tropical storm 'Kristy', which could develop into a hurricane during the day, will bring heavy rains to western Mexico, according to reports from the National Meteorological Service (SMN). The storm is expected to produce very intense rainfall of 50 to 75 millimeters in Jalisco, as well as heavy precipitation in Colima, Michoacán, and Nayarit. Additionally, winds with gusts of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour and waves of 1 to 3 meters are forecast in certain coastal areas.

According to reports, the storm 'Kristy' is currently located 500 kilometers south-southwest of Punta San Telmo, Michoacán, and 650 kilometers west-southwest of Acapulco, Guerrero. The relevant authorities are calling on the population to follow civil protection recommendations in the face of this meteorological phenomenon.
