Three individuals identified as Marco Antonio Reyes Molina, Arturo Alejandro Gómora Velázquez, and Brayan Mauricio San Juan Reyes have been sentenced to 47 years in prison for the crime of extortion against the owner of a restaurant in San Mateo Atenco, according to the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM).

The incident occurred on April 5, 2024, when the accused presented themselves at the establishment as members of a criminal group. One of them handed the manager a floral arrangement in the form of a funeral wreath and a yellow envelope with instructions to deliver it to the owner, signed by "El Comandante Pecha." They threatened to cause damage to the business if they did not receive a sum of money requested in exchange for not doing so.

Marco Antonio Reyes Molina intimidated the victim with a firearm before fleeing in a Dodge vehicle along with the other two accomplices. The report led to their identification and subsequent arrest by the Public Ministry after an investigation.

After being arrested, the convicted individuals were incarcerated in the Lerma Penitentiary and Social Reintegration Center. In addition to imprisonment, they must pay fines totaling 192,711 pesos.

The investigation revealed that the three individuals were part of a criminal cell with roots in Michoacán, led by Oscar "N," known as "Pecha," which operated in several municipalities including Toluca, Metepec, Calimaya, San Mateo Atenco, Mexicaltzingo, and Chapultepec.
