Local deputy of Movimiento Ciudadano, Baltazar Martínez, denounced that the PRI-PAN opposition has used the Public Prosecutor's Office of Nuevo León for political purposes against the former candidate of San Nicolás, Alejandra Morales. Martínez highlighted that Morales was just 4% away from winning the mayoralty in the previous elections, a municipality historically controlled by the PAN.
In his statements, Martínez expressed his rejection of what he considers an abuse of power by the PRIAN coalition using institutions for partisan purposes. He also voiced his full support for Alejandra Morales in this situation.
The legislator stated that high-ranking members of the PAN in San Nicolás are seeking to harm Movimiento Ciudadano ahead of the 2027 elections, especially after Morales was so close to winning the previous election and intended to compete again.
Martínez criticized the accusations against Alejandra Morales, arguing that they are baseless and result in the violation of her rights, detailing that arbitrary measures have been imposed on her, such as appearing monthly before a judge, despite being pregnant.
Governor Samuel García also expressed his support for Alejandra Morales through social media, condemning what he considers an act of injustice by the Public Prosecutor's Office and the judges of the PRIAN coalition. García expressed his anger over the situation and assured that he would defend and support Morales in this juncture.
