Creation of New Social Secretariat in San Nicolás

The San Nicolás government has created a new social secretariat led by Lilia Olivares. This move is seen as a political maneuver to strengthen the group's position and create strategic options amidst uncertainty.

Creation of New Social Secretariat in San Nicolás

The San Nicolás government has created the General Cabinet of Social Affairs, which will bring together three municipal social areas. It will be headed by Lilia Olivares, who recently requested a leave from the Chamber of Deputies to take on the task. Olivares will officially assume her position as a government official in San Nicolás on April 1st. The new position includes the Secretariat of Citizen Participation and Human Development; the General Directorate of Health; as well as the Institute of Physical Culture and Sports and the Institute for Cultural Development of the municipality. The aforementioned departments are responsible for providing the social support requested from the government of Daniel Carrillo, as well as health brigades, vaccination campaigns, and in the area of sports and culture, the delivery of all related infrastructure. On the other hand, Daniel Carrillo publicly stated that he required 'coordination that articulates all social actions with a family perspective.' The San Nicolás Group is tasked with maintaining its strongholds and believes that the PAN's coordinator of deputies, Carlos de la Fuente, is the only viable option in terms of voting intention. Therefore, they seek to increase the number of options and, in the event of reaffirming 'Chale' as the candidate, they will not leave any local deputyship of the municipality unattended. According to information obtained by LPO, this move aims to promote Olivares at the local level. In parallel, the San Nicolás Group holds the former deputy as an option in case electoral reforms and statutes require the candidacy to be given to a woman. This factor has not yet been solidified and remains highly uncertain.
