Governor Samuel García announced that the population of García and Santa Catarina will have access to the passenger train, with a planned stop in San Jerónimo. From this point, they will connect with Line 4, which will eventually reach the Airport, linking with other lines such as 1, 2, 3, 5, and the Ecovía.
Initially, the extension of Line 4 of Metrorrey was to reach Santa Catarina, a municipality governed by Jesús Nava, who at the time of the proposal belonged to Movimiento Ciudadano and later moved to Morena. However, after the cancellation of Line 5, it was announced that Line 4 would be reduced to a single viaduct connected to Line 6.
Samuel García supervised the Prefabricated Plant for Lines 4 and 6 of the Metro in Marín, where he indicated the intention to link Line 4 with the passenger train project from Mexico City to Nuevo Laredo promoted by the federal government. It is proposed that the connection be made in San Jerónimo, San Pedro, with the possibility of extending Line 4 from that point without providing direct service to Santa Catarina.
The governor set the goal of completing Line 4 from the Airport to the San Jerónimo station by the end of his term, mentioning that the passenger train from President Claudia Sheinbaum will pass through that point. The intention is to provide an efficient connection and expand public transportation options for the residents of the area.
