Perception of Insecurity in San Pedro Garza García

In September, the perception of insecurity in San Pedro Garza García was 13.7%, representing an increase from June, although it remains the lowest in Mexico. At the national level, 58.6% feel insecure in their city, showing a slight decrease. Despite this, 64.4% of the population trusts the local government's efficiency in solving problems.

In September, the perception of insecurity in San Pedro Garza García reached 13.7 percent, which represented a 17 percent increase compared to June. Despite this increase, the municipality remained the safest in Mexico, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).

At the national level, 58.6 percent of the population over 18 feels unsafe in their city, showing a slight decrease of 1.35 percent compared to June. Other municipalities with low perception of insecurity were Benito Juárez, Tampico, Piedras Negras, Puerto Vallarta, and Saltillo.

Compared to September of last year, San Pedro Garza García was the municipality with the best performance in the Monterrey Metropolitan Area, recording a 34.13 percent reduction in the perception of insecurity. On the other hand, San Nicolás had the highest annual increase in this perception, followed by Apodaca and Escobedo.

The perception of insecurity in the municipalities of the Monterrey Metropolitan Area had a mixed behavior, with four municipalities decreasing the perception and three increasing it. In San Pedro, 64.4 percent of the population believes the government is efficient in solving the most important problems, while in San Nicolás, Santa Catarina, Apodaca, Monterrey, and Escobedo, the percentages range from 39.4 to 48.6 percent.

These results reflect a picture of the state of security perception in the region, with San Pedro Garza García standing out as the municipality with the lowest perception of insecurity despite the slight increase recorded.
