Numerous boys from San Pedro had the opportunity to experience a day in the life of the police, thanks to the activities organized by the traffic and municipal corporations of the city council governed by Mauricio Fernández.
A group of 50 children, aged between 6 and 14 years, visited the facilities of the Secretariat of Public Security, where they immersed themselves in the experience of being Police Officers for a Day. For more than three hours, the little ones participated in a guided tour where they engaged in various activities related to police work.
Among the dynamics they participated in were role-playing as traffic police in a mini-city, operating surveillance cameras from C4, using a driving simulator, and participating in a "secret mission: Rescue the stuffed animal," where they followed clues to solve an alleged theft.
Additionally, they received a talk from the Directorate of Social Prevention of Violence on handling emotions and values. The aim of these activities was to teach children basic traffic and civic norms, encourage safe decision-making, promote civic values, and bring them closer to the operational work of the police.
Throughout the tour, the little ones were accompanied by Pedro the Squirrel, the official mascot of the Secretariat of Public Security. At the end of the day, they enjoyed a juggling show, shared a snack, and received bags of candy as a keepsake from this enriching experience.
