Preparations Underway for Day of the Dead in San Pedro

The municipal authorities of San Pedro are ready to welcome visitors for the Day of the Dead celebration. Various preparations have been made, such as fumigation and cleaning at the municipal cemetery Jardines de San Pedro, where a rescue drill for a person was also conducted.

The director of Civil Protection has issued recommendations to the public, such as not walking or sitting on the graves, wearing comfortable clothing, staying hydrated, and keeping an eye on children and elderly individuals. There is a call to avoid leaving containers that can collect water, such as vases, to prevent the proliferation of mosquitoes.

Regarding the Halloween celebration, it has been announced that security patrols will be conducted to protect families going out to trick-or-treat. Parents are advised to accompany children during the activity and to use reflective clothing in dark costumes to be visible to drivers.

Additionally, specific recommendations have been established for visiting cemeteries, such as avoiding walking on graves, supervising minors at all times, and respecting safety instructions. Rescue drills have also been conducted in the cemeteries to raise awareness among citizens about the risks in these areas.

Civil Protection of San Pedro has initiated a preventive operation in municipal and private cemeteries from October 30 to November 3, which includes cleaning, weeding, and fumigation. Coordination has been established with the different cemeteries to eliminate potential risks and ensure the safety of citizens during this peak visitor season.
