The National Urban Security Survey (ENSU) has once again confirmed San Pedro as the safest municipality in the region. In an effort to further strengthen security, the city council led by Mauricio Fernández has received support from Civil Force, which has provided a helicopter for surveillance tasks. This new security project includes not only the mentioned aircraft but also a second similar unit and two drones that will be deployed to fly over the city preventively.
Since the beginning of the current administration, the municipal government has launched the Coordination Operation for a Safe and Peaceful San Pedro, in collaboration with the Army, the National Guard, Civil Force, and the State Attorney General's Office. The continuous presence of the Civil Force unit adds to the operations where elements of the San Pedro Police and other federal and state security forces are already participating.
José Luis David Kuri, Secretary of Public Security, has announced that the results of these joint actions will be evaluated in the coming days. According to Kuri, an integrated strategy has been implemented since the beginning of the administration to focus on crime prevention. The integration of aircraft, both the Civil Force helicopter and high-tech drones, are part of the second phase of aerial operations aimed at strengthening surveillance and improving presence in the area.
Juan Pablo Castuera, personal secretary to Mayor Mauricio Fernández, has emphasized that these measures primarily aim at preventing and deterring crime in the municipality. Security is a priority for both the mayor and all the residents of San Pedro, and these actions seek to improve security conditions in the area. Representatives from the National Guard, the Army, the AEI, and Civil Force participated in the presentation of the aerial units joining the operation, demonstrating inter-institutional coordination in security matters.
