Jesús Nava joins Morena after political change

Jesús Nava, who previously was a member of the PAN and then joined Movimiento Ciudadano after winning the mayoral elections in Santa Catarina in May 2022, has now decided to join Morena. His affiliation with the party was announced by Luisa María Alcalde, national president of Morena, who welcomed him to the party.

In previous statements, Nava expressed his intention to change parties due to the lack of support from the emecista government of Nuevo León following the disasters caused by Tropical Storm "Alberto," which left many sectors of the municipality without water for several weeks. These circumstances generated speculation about Nava's relationship with Samuel García, speculation that now seems to be confirmed by his entry into Morena.

On his social media, Nava also shared the news of his party switch, expressing his conviction to achieve a better Santa Catarina and Nuevo León for all by joining Morena and working with President Claudia Sheinbaum. He also stated that he will closely collaborate with the national leader of Morena, Luisa María Alcalde, to bring transformation to Nuevo León and improve resources allocated to works, programs, and services in the region.

"The transformation has arrived in Santa Catarina, the best is yet to come!" highlighted Nava on his social media, where he received multiple congratulations from followers for his new party affiliation.
