Revelations from Ismael 'El Mayo' Zambada's Narco Encyclopedia

Luis Chaparro unveiled shocking details about Ismael Zambada's 'narco encyclopedia,' naming politicians and public figures allegedly connected to drug trafficking. This raises questions about the infiltration of crime into Mexican politics.

Revelations from Ismael 'El Mayo' Zambada's Narco Encyclopedia

Journalist Luis Chaparro, specialized in drug trafficking and criminal organizations, revealed a shocking discovery about Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada, leader of the Sinaloa Cartel. According to Chaparro, Zambada shared a "narco-encyclopedia" that mentions politicians, businessmen, journalists, and other figures he allegedly had contacts with over the years.

This "narco-encyclopedia" includes names of Mexican political figures, such as governors, mayors, and even former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador, with whom Zambada allegedly maintained agreements, favors, and possible payments. The revelation was made public on February 3, following accusations from the White House against the Mexican government for alleged links to drug trafficking, which were denied by President Claudia Sheinbaum.

Chaparro mentions that the "narco-encyclopedia" contains key names of both drug traffickers and political figures close to El Mayo. Among them are Sinaloa Governor Rubén Rocha Moya and former Governor Mario López Valdez, who were reportedly mentioned during the interrogation of the cartel leader. It's noteworthy that Zambada did not reveal the names of rivals in drug trafficking but rather those with whom he had close ties.

The journalist points out that the "narco-encyclopedia" is in the hands of U.S. authorities and that the implications of the mentioned names could have severe judicial consequences, especially if they are related to cross-border crimes. While Mexican justice will address the responsible parties within its territory, those linked to international drug trafficking could face serious consequences.

These revelations have raised doubts about the magnitude of drug trafficking in Mexican politics, and further revelations are expected that could impact investigations and the bilateral relationship between Mexico and the United States regarding security.
