As a result of these violent events, elements of the Mexican Army, National Guard, and State Police are maintaining a deployment of personnel throughout the municipality of Tecpan de Galeana. In the last 24 hours, supposed confrontations have been reported, along with recommendations from the mayor of this municipality urging the population to stay in their homes, maintaining a tense situation in the region of Guerrero.
According to statements from residents of the towns of Tetitlán and Tenexpa, which belong to the municipality of Tecpan, street activity in these towns is almost nonexistent, and the inhabitants of these areas have chosen to confine themselves to their homes since the beginning of this incursion.
The Secretariat of Public Security of the State of Guerrero reported on Saturday afternoon about the detention of six more people of Guatemalan nationality in the municipality of Tecpan de Galeana, in the region of Costa Grande de Guerrero. It detailed that the capture of these six individuals was carried out during an inter-institutional operation aimed at reinforcing security and surveillance in this area, which actions were executed in coordination with the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), the National Guard (GN), and the State Attorney General's Office (FGE), following the confrontations recorded in Tecpan de Galeana.
In the letter, the SSP of Guerrero reported that the six detainees were found in possession of cartridges exclusively for the Army, Navy, and Air Force, whose possession is strictly regulated and constitutes a serious crime in Mexico.
