
A funeral procession in Tacámbaro, Michoacán, turned into a tragedy on Monday, October 28, when nine people were injured due to the explosion of a batch of fireworks being transported in a truck. The incident occurred on the Northern Bypass while the caravan slowly advanced through the municipal capital.
A surveillance camera captured the exact moment when the fireworks exploded, also affecting other vehicles. The images show the magnitude of the event, which left several injured, including three people with amputations. Local authorities, along with personnel from municipal Civil Protection, Civil Guard, and the State Attorney General's Office, provided immediate assistance to the injured.
According to official reports, nine people were injured in the incident. Four men and two women were taken to the General Hospital María Zendejas in Tacámbaro for medical attention and specialized evaluations. The local community has been shocked by this tragic event that marked a moment that was originally one of mourning and respect.
