Investigation Launched for Animal Abuse Case in Tala

The Police of the Municipality of Tala, Jalisco, received a report about an injured dog in the Los Ruiseñores neighborhood, just 30 minutes from the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara. After responding to the call, it was discovered that the animal had been shot in one of its front legs. Although no witnesses were found at the scene, a neighbor informed the officers that the attacker shot the dog from an electric scooter and then fled.

Public safety agents quickly mobilized upon receiving the emergency call to 911 and located the injured dog on Arroyo Sauce Corto street. In the absence of owners, it was decided that the animal would be sheltered to receive immediate veterinary assistance. Later, staff from the municipality of Tala's animal prevention, health, and protection unit arrived at the site to provide the necessary care.

After a veterinary medical evaluation, it was determined that the injury had been caused by a thrown sharp object, and not by a gunshot as initially thought. Fortunately, the mixed-breed dog will be treated properly and will remain under care until its full recovery, with the intention of finding it a safe home through a responsible adoption process.

In the words of **a representative of the animal prevention, health, and protection unit of the municipality of Tala**, "It is unfortunate to see how an act of cruelty affects an innocent animal, but we are committed to ensuring that it receives the necessary medical attention, and once recovered, it can find a new home where it will be cared for and loved as it deserves."
