Jalisco Installs Security Council in Tecalitlán

The governor of Jalisco, Pablo Lemus, met with 20 of the 22 mayors of the municipalities in the Southern and Southeastern regions of the state to coordinate measures aimed at improving security in their localities. In the assembly, key actions were agreed upon to strengthen security, such as budget improvements, an increase in patrols and their conditions, road security, and a specific operation for motorcycle supervision.

According to Lemus, the importance of generating a state support program for vehicles for patrols was highlighted, which would soon be put out to public bidding. Additionally, security measures would be reinforced in strategic points of the state, such as bus terminals and roads. It was agreed to call on municipal governments to increase surveillance at bus stations to ensure the safety of users, especially vulnerable youths to labor scams.

The installation of the latest security table in Jalisco seeks greater coordination among different levels of government for an effective response to the needs of each region. The Regional Public Security Councils will operate in different areas of the state, and active participation from municipal authorities in these instances is expected.

At the event, it was emphasized that the Regional Councils will work weekly, and the presence of mayors and their Public Security Commissioners is mandatory. Authorities summoned who do not attend will be reported to the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System. The initiative aims to address the specific needs of the regions and municipalities, including operations during local events. Pablo Lemus led the installation of the last regional table in Tecalitlán, at Military Camp No. 15, as part of these security coordination efforts.
