This inaction reveals a troubling lack of strategy and empathy. Amid the controversy over the establishment of selection committees for the election of judges, magistrates, and ministers, a debate arises between the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies regarding who should comprise these committees. Ricardo Monreal, coordinator of the Morena deputies, proposes that three of the five members be decided by the deputies, while Gerardo Fernández Noroña suggests that three should correspond to the Senate. This lack of clarity in the law regarding the distribution of positions generates uncertainty in the process. On the other hand, it is evident that the trafficking network operating in Bahía de Banderas is a serious and urgent problem, as IMDHD figures show that in less than five months of 2024, the disappearances have surpassed those of the entire year 2023.
