The authorities of the Tijuana City Council have announced the implementation of a special operation for Halloween festivities in the city’s Downtown area. One of the main measures is the prohibition of masks during the celebrations, especially aimed at adults to prevent disturbances and violent acts during the Festival. In case of refusing to remove the mask or engaging in inappropriate behavior, authorities have warned that individuals will be arrested and taken before the municipal judge.
To ensure compliance with this measure, around 450 personnel and 200 police units will be used, according to Public Security Secretary Juan Manuel Sánchez Rosales, accompanied by the General Secretary of the Municipal Government of Tijuana, Arnulfo Guerrero León, during a press conference. More than 15,000 citizens are expected to participate in the traditional Halloween parade that will take place on Avenida Revolución.
This restriction originates from concerns about rising crime and insecurity, with the aim of maintaining order and safety at the event. In addition to the mask prohibition, the special surveillance operation will allow municipal police to arrest anyone who does not comply with the established regulations. Surveillance hours will run from 3:00 PM on October 31 to 3:00 AM on November 1.
Authorities have emphasized the importance of respecting these rules to ensure that the Halloween festivities take place peacefully and safely for all attendees.
