The Secretariat of Energy and Pemex could reconsider their commercial relationship with the hydrocarbon desalination consortium due to the performance of the company Química Apollo. The latter has ceased to be the holder of the 11 billion peso contract for desalinating and dehydrating crude oil at the Dos Bocas refinery due to differences with the other partners. Química Apollo filed an amparo lawsuit to challenge Pemex's decision that disrecognized it as the holder of the contract.
Pemex awarded control of the contract to a firm without the necessary technical experience, which generated criticism. Química Apollo, whose partners include the Katz family, demanded its right to maintain the contract. However, both Pemex and Sener have decided not to have a commercial relationship with Química Apollo again.

The event is recognized by World Athletics, allowing the recorded times to be official and usable for international classifications.
This marathon not only generates significant economic impact but also helps to rescue an ancestral heritage by distilling aguamiel using copper stills. This launch is part of a commitment to innovation in a market that increasingly values authentic and sustainable proposals. The initiative led by Ricardo Alexander aims to position the pulque distillate as a differentiated option within the traditional beverage market.
