In December 2023, an armed attack occurred inside a sports facility in the Tláhuac borough, resulting in the death of a man and a woman, in addition to injuries to seven people. The authorities of Mexico City, the State of Mexico, and the federal government launched an operation to capture those responsible, as they were investigating a criminal group operating in the eastern zone of the capital.

"The movement area of one of its members in Tultitlán, State of Mexico, was identified, and fixed, mobile, and discreet surveillance was implemented, as well as reconnaissance patrols," an official spokesperson said. During the operation in the Fuentes del Valle neighborhood, they observed an individual handling a firearm, which led to a search that resulted in the detention of Francisco Javier, 36 years old, with several incriminating elements.

Among the items found were three cell phones, a short firearm, magazines, useful cartridges, possible crystal, a package with adhesive tape, and 100 doses of a substance similar to cocaine. Francisco Javier was presented before the Public Prosecutor's Office to determine his legal situation, while various local and federal police and security authorities participated in the operation.

Subsequently, on May 3, in the municipality of Coacalco, Brandon Salvador was arrested at a property on Avenida De las Naciones. The detention was carried out without violence, and suspicious substances, cash, a firearm cartridge, a laptop, and a mobile device were seized from him. This individual is linked to criminal activities such as drug trafficking, extortion, and kidnappings in the eastern area of Mexico City and the State of Mexico.

Brandon Salvador's brother, Francisco Javier, was arrested in Tultitlán, State of Mexico, and is linked to the kidnapping of a woman and her child in August 2024. The two brothers are being prosecuted by the relevant authorities for their alleged links to serious criminal activities in the region.
