The authorities of the State of Mexico arrested both parents, Diana Jaciel and Lucio David, after a neighbor found a newborn baby abandoned outside their house in Tultitlán. After receiving medical attention, the abandonment of the infant was evidenced and an investigation was initiated.
The Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico determined that both Lucio David and Diana Jaciel were involved in the abandonment of the baby. Despite Lucio surrendering to the Attorney General's Office of Mexico City, the authorities proceeded with his detention in coordination with the corresponding agency of the State of Mexico.
The institution confirmed the situation by capturing the two individuals, who were identified for their probable participation in a crime of attempted homicide to the detriment of the newborn. The Attorney General's Office collected evidence, such as WhatsApp conversations between both parents, indicating the intention to abandon the baby.
According to screenshots of the conversations, Diana Jaciel expressed fear and doubt during childbirth, even voicing her fear and her inability to face the situation. These messages evidenced her participation in the decision to abandon the baby, leading to her detention alongside Lucio David.
The submission of evidence allowed the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico to take legal action against the parents involved in the abandonment of the newborn. The institution stated that the arrest warrant was executed against Diana Jaciel and Lucio David, thus establishing the legal grounds to continue the corresponding process given the seriousness of the facts.
