The Attorney General's Office of Chiapas has issued a search bulletin and established a reward for information leading to the capture of Víctor José Carrera Mayor, the main suspect in the femicide of Liliana, a 12-year-old girl whose lifeless body was found in a home in the Colón neighborhood of Tuxtla Gutiérrez. Carrera Mayor, 45 years old, is described as a man approximately 1.70 meters tall, with an athletic build and a tattoo covering much of his left arm. A reward of 500,000 pesos is offered to anyone who provides relevant information about his whereabouts.
According to reports, Liliana, originally from the municipality of Berriozábal, was reported missing on October 19. The girl sold sweets in downtown Tuxtla Gutiérrez and her body was discovered on Wednesday, October 23, buried in the backyard of a house in the Colón neighborhood. The discovery occurred after neighbors reported unpleasant odors coming from the house and feminist activists managed to identify the girl's location through surveillance camera recordings.
During the ordinary session of the Senate of the Republic, a minute of silence was observed in memory of Liliana Guadalupe Marroquín Marroquín. Senators from Morena, such as Edith López Hernández and the president of the board, Gerardo Fernández Noroña, have condemned the femicide and demanded that the Chiapas authorities clarify the case. Fernández Noroña stated that he would communicate with the head of the Attorney General's Office of Chiapas, Olaf Gómez Hernández, to ensure that justice is served.
