The Director of Technological Infrastructure at the Digital Technology Agency of the State of Chiapas, Marco 'N', was removed from his position and detained after being reported for allegedly attempting to court two teenagers at a shopping mall in Tuxtla Gutiérrez. According to the reports, the man was caught inviting the girls to eat and allegedly sexually harassing them, until the father of one of the girls, who is 15 years old, along with his family, intervened and recorded the complaints.
The family alerted the authorities, and the official was detained, while the recording was shared on social media through the media outlet Alerta Chiapas. The Attorney General's Office of the State of Chiapas (FGE) reported that it has initiated an investigation against Marco 'N', identified as the alleged perpetrator of the crime of sexual harassment committed against two minors whose identities are being withheld.
The Women's Prosecutor's Office is carrying out the necessary proceedings to determine the legal situation of Marco 'N' according to the law. The director of the Digital Technology Agency, Jovani Salazar, announced on social media that he has given instructions for the process of removing Marco 'N' from his position to begin promptly, in order not to obstruct the investigations of the Prosecutor's Office.
Salazar emphasized that they will act in strict adherence to the law, with zero impunity and zero corruption, as indicated by Governor Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar. He highlighted that as public servants, they are dedicating their lives to service and not to serving themselves. He also urged the relevant authorities to follow up on the case that has circulated on social media.
Each individual is responsible for their actions, Salazar asserted, stressing that the law should not be bent to benefit anyone. He committed to awaiting the authorities' ruling to inform the public about the progress of the case.
