
In Michoacán, the capture of 'Don Chuy', alleged plaza boss of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), triggered a confrontation between elements of the Mexican Army and the National Guard (GN) with members of the CJNG. The arrest took place in Zacapu during the early hours of Tuesday, February 25, according to reports from El Universal. During the operation, gunfire erupted in the streets of downtown Zacapu when other alleged cartel members tried to prevent the arrest of 'Don Chuy'.
As a result of the confrontations, two security agents were injured. Images of the capture of 'Don Chuy' have been circulated on social media, showing the scene of the arrest in Michoacán. Following the capture, the CJNG caused blockades on highways and the burning of vehicles and trucks in the region, leading to the suspension of classes in Zacapu.
