The authorities of the Attorney General's Office of Justice of Hidalgo captured a suspected leader of a fuel theft ring, identified as H. A. M. M. or 'El H', who was considered a high-priority target in the state. The detention took place in the Lindavista neighborhood of the municipality of Zempoala, Hidalgo, with the participation of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the PGJEH and the collaboration of the local Public Security Secretariat.
The alleged leader belonged to the gang known as 'Los Solas' and primarily operated in the Tula-Tepeji region. During the operation, in addition to his capture, long weapons, magazines, useful cartridges, and a luxury truck were secured, items that were placed under the protection of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The detainee is attributed with leading a criminal cell dedicated to the illegal extraction of hydrocarbons and drug trafficking, as well as his involvement in investigations related to intentional homicides. After his capture, 'El H' was handed over to the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime of the Attorney General's Office of the Republic by the High Impact unit.
Zempoala, the municipality where the detention took place, has previously been associated with crimes related to fuel theft. In an operation in August 2024, elements of the Hidalgo Public Security Secretariat seized a tractor truck along with two tank trucks transporting 63,000 liters of stolen hydrocarbons on the Mexico-Tuxpan federal highway, after receiving an alert from C5i regarding the theft of the vehicle.
