Several celebrities, such as Sofía Niño de Rivera, Germán Ortega, and Leticia Calderón, have recently been victims of scams. Leticia Calderón, known for her participation in projects like "Mujeres Asesinas," revealed that she was part of a fraud in which she lost a significant amount of money. She expressed solidarity with Cynthia Klitbo, who also suffered a phone scam that left her without savings.
In a video shared on her social media, Leticia Calderón explained that she lost all her savings due to a scam. Cynthia Klitbo, for her part, was a victim of a similar scheme to that of Sofía Niño de Rivera, where the scammers posed as her bank to obtain personal information and steal all her money.
Other celebrities, such as Arath de la Torre, have also been affected by scams. In his case, it was through an online hotel reservation that turned out to be a fraud, and he lost the transferred money. Germán Ortega reported being scammed by a kitchen remodeling company to which he gave a deposit of 230,000 pesos and never received the service.
To avoid falling into this type of fraud, the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection advises mistrusting overly attractive promotions and verifying the authenticity of establishments before making payments. It is also recommended to ensure that websites have the security protocol "https://" and a closed padlock at the top when making online purchases.
Leticia Calderón revealed that, despite being a victim of a scam, her bank was able to block a part of the money before more transfers were made. However, she regretted not recovering the lost amount. The actress expressed her support for Cynthia Klitbo, who lost all her savings due to a financial scam.
Other celebrities, such as Sofía Niño de Rivera, have been affected by different types of fraud in the past year, leading to greater awareness of the dangers of such scams in the entertainment industry.
