The Government of Mexico City has presented a new social program aimed at housewives in the Iztapalapa borough, which consists of a monthly financial support of 2,000 pesos. This program, called Iztapa las Jefas 2025, has the main objective of contributing to the eradication of structural inequalities and poverty, as well as protecting the right to food for heads of households in vulnerable situations in the area.
According to the program's operating rules, it is expected to benefit 200,000 heads of families in Iztapalapa who are between 35 and 56 years old and present conditions of social vulnerability and poverty. The support will be delivered in five payments of 200 pesos each, through an electronic payment mechanism such as a card and/or transfer.
The process to be part of the program requires that the applicant be the head of a household and a resident of the Iztapalapa borough, be between 35 and 56 years old, and submit certain documentation, as well as demonstrate social vulnerability. It is important to highlight that the applicant must not be an employee of the Iztapalapa borough or any other agency of the Government of Mexico City, nor a beneficiary of any other current social program offered by the borough.
Among the documentary requirements are a valid voter ID with an address in the Iztapalapa borough, a proof of address not older than three months, CURP, a sworn statement of truth, and a socioeconomic study, as well as the birth certificate of at least one child. To register, one must go to the Coordination of Inclusion for Priority Groups during business hours from Monday to Friday.
