Cyberattacks and Sustainability: Challenges for Mexico

According to Aon's 2023 Global Risk Management Survey, in Mexico, cyberattacks rank second among the main business risks for companies, being the primary short-term threat. Issues such as climate insecurity and risks in the global supply chain are also highly relevant, creating a challenging scenario. Aon identified four key trends that companies must focus on: trade, technology, climate, and workforce.

Companies face a fragmented and stressful environment in supply chains. It is crucial for them to develop long-term risk management strategies, using tools that allow them to anticipate and prepare for adverse situations. Regarding the workforce, it is necessary to rethink the well-being of teams, especially in a context where job specialization is on the rise.

According to the same survey, five of the ten main risks in Mexico can be affected by climate, including business interruptions and supply chain failures. To thrive in this complex environment, companies must develop a roadmap that prepares them for future challenges.

The prevailing uncertainty in today's world highlights the importance of companies defining a clear long-term direction to strengthen their resilience against global contingencies. Trade, with its increasing complexity, and the speed of technological innovations demand priority attention from organizations.

Attracting and retaining future talent will require a redefinition of human capital strategies, focusing on motivation and building positive work environments that foster personal and professional growth. These four trends are interconnected and must be addressed comprehensively by companies to ensure their sustainability and long-term success.
