In the fourth quarter of last year, the employment rate in Nuevo León (NL) was 97.4% of the Economically Active Population (EAP). This figure, according to Inegi, represents an increase of one percentage point compared to the previous quarter and only 10 basis points more than in the same period of 2023.
In addition to improving its employment rate, Nuevo León also managed to reduce its informal employment rate, placing it at 33.3%, the lowest level nationwide. This data reflects a decrease of 1.6 percentage points compared to the previous quarter.
Inegi also reported that the number of employed people in Nuevo León during this period was two million 945 thousand 295, representing an increase of 45 thousand 391 compared to the third quarter of the same year.
In the fourth quarter of 2024, the economic participation rate nationwide reached 59.9% of the population aged 15 and older, according to Inegi's report. Nationwide, a total of 59.5 million people were employed, an increase of 84 thousand compared to the same period in 2023.
