A commission of military personnel from Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), under the command of General Isidoro Pastor, has received advice from the Maya Train for railway operations. This information will be applied in the military operation of the train that will connect Buenavista with the airport terminal located in Santa Lucía.
Military personnel Eleazar Ramírez Espíndola, Fernando Esteves Piña, Julio Cesar Delgado Ramirez, and Héctor Ramírez Pérez met at the Maya Train facilities on October 10, 2024, to receive details about the construction, operation, and management of the railway project.
According to leaked documents, the military were able to obtain key information to operate the train that goes from Buenavista to AIFA, which had initially been projected as an extension of the Suburban Train service. Based on this advice, military engineers will be responsible for completing the railway, as the CAF company was removed from the project.
Although it has not been officially defined how the train to AIFA will be operated, which will originate from the Buenavista station and head to Lechería, the military continued receiving advice for the management of the railway project. Aspects such as regulations, recruitment profiles, training, and necessary personnel were detailed.
Among the requirements mentioned in the military documents, the need for an Internal Transport Regulation (RIT) to operate the railway service and the training of personnel for one year to obtain the necessary railway licenses stand out. The capability of the train operators will be essential to ensure its proper functioning.
