The Government of the State of Mexico, under the direction of Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez, has implemented a series of initiatives to promote the inclusion and development of women in the entity.
One of the most notable actions is the Violeta Operation, deployed at 78 points in 11 priority municipalities, aimed at ensuring the safety of girls, adolescents, and women. In addition, surveillance has been strengthened in high-risk neighborhoods, public spaces, and transport stops.
Another important program is Women Builders of Peace, which aims to strengthen female participation in violence prevention. 39 Networks of Women Builders of Peace have been established in municipalities with Gender Violence Alerts, in order to improve family income and ensure access to essential resources.
On the other hand, the "Women at the Wheel" program has trained 195 women public transport operators, promoting inclusion and gender equity in this traditionally male-dominated sector. Additionally, self-employment and entrepreneurship have been promoted for over 23,000 caregiver women through specialized courses and workshops.
Furthermore, the program "Women Plumbers," promoted by the Water Secretariat of the State of Mexico, seeks to encourage the responsible use of water and expand job opportunities with a gender perspective. This program has been successful and has benefited many women in the entity.
In the area of social reintegration, women deprived of liberty in the State of Mexico have access to self-employment and training initiatives. Thanks to programs like this, many women have been able to complete higher or secondary education and have found job opportunities upon reintegrating into society.
In summary, through a variety of programs and initiatives, the Government of the State of Mexico is working to improve the quality of life for women in the entity, strengthening their autonomy, protecting their rights, and generating opportunities for their development with a comprehensive focus on social well-being.
