Jalisco Launches Financial Programs for Development

The Financing Promoter for the Development of Jalisco (PROJAL) will announce the expansion of access to financing through 8 strategic programs aimed at boosting the economic and social development of the state. The goal is to support small and medium-sized enterprises as the engine of the national economy.

The Governor of Jalisco, Pablo Lemus Navarro, highlighted that PROJAL will deliver 10 billion pesos in credits and guarantees to support 50,000 entrepreneurs and businesses, of which 30 percent will be allocated to women and youth. This initiative is expected to generate around 100,000 new direct and indirect jobs.

PROJAL, also known as the Jalisco Business Promotion Fund 'FOJAL' in the past, has as its main objective to allocate resources to facilitate access to financing for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This program responds to the sector's need for economic resources for its growth and sustainability.

The project includes eight financing programs aimed at transforming the productive ecosystem and promoting the growth of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in Jalisco. According to Lemus, PROJAL will be a fundamental tool to boost strategic sectors in the state and promote local economic development.

Additionally, PROJAL is expected to contribute to the reactivation of venture capital investments of more than 150 million pesos and to the injection of 100 million pesos in budgetary resources, marking the largest investment made in the last decade in the state. The program also aims to strengthen the economy directed at women, agriculture, youth, and developers of local patents, among other strategic sectors.
