Jalisco participates in Foodex Japan 2025 with the goal of opening the market in countries such as Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, or Thailand, promoting tequila and agave derivatives. The fair takes place from March 11 to 14 and has the representation of the entity in a space supported by the State Government, through the Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development (Sader Jalisco), as part of the Mexico pavilion. This presence aims to strengthen the Mexican agro-industry globally.
Recently, the Jalisco stand at Foodex received thousands of people with tastings and mixology samples. Representatives from the agro-industry participated in negotiations to position their products in new markets and strengthen commercial ties. Like Jalisco, other Mexican entities such as Guanajuato, Michoacán, and Quintana Roo seek to internationalize in Japan by exhibiting and promoting their products at the fair.
In the case of Guanajuato, they aim to consolidate business relationships with Asian buyers through the exhibition of fresh and frozen products, beverages, meats, grains, and processed foods. Michoacán promotes lemon production in the entity, while Quintana Roo attempts to enhance its internationalization with the participation of 11 companies in Foodex 2025.
Foodex is the largest and most important International Food and Beverage Fair in Asia, considered the gateway to Japan and the Asian region for Mexican agro-exporters. Mexico, as a member of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Mexico-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement, has strategic trade benefits that offer alternatives for producers and agri-food companies at this key event for the sector.
