The Tax Administration Service (SAT) is causing concern among taxpayers due to a massive wave of rejections in tax refund requests. Although the legal deadline for resolving these requests is 20 business days, the numerous rejections have raised doubts about whether there are internal problems at the SAT affecting the procedures.
Complaints and expressions of discomfort have been received from taxpayers, who are questioning why the SAT is rejecting these requests. According to SAT regulations, automatic tax refunds are a right of taxpayers who meet certain requirements, such as submitting the annual declaration on time and demonstrating a favorable balance due to having paid more taxes than required or having valid personal deductions.
Mario Di Costanzo, former president of Condusef and former federal deputy, has highlighted in an interview with Publimetro that the SAT is facing a liquidity crisis, which could explain the delays and rejections in tax refunds. It is mentioned that the SAT is struggling to meet its budget obligations, which has led to delays in many procedures.
Although the SAT has denied delaying refunds due to a lack of financial resources, taxpayers have reported rejections without a clear explanation of the reasons, which has generated confusion and discontent. The legal deadline for refunds is 40 business days, as established in the Federal Tax Code, and the SAT does not incur any irregularities if it meets this deadline.
Affected taxpayers have expressed their dissatisfaction due to the lack of details about the rejections in tax refund requests. Despite the SAT assuring that there are no delays due to a lack of resources, uncertainty persists among those waiting for their tax refunds. The situation has created an atmosphere of discomfort and concern among taxpayers, who see their processes in a state of uncertainty.
