The company Sea Marine Transport (SMT) has consolidated its position as a strategic player in the maritime transport of heavy cargo between China, Mexico, Central, and South America. Moisés Sarabia, president of SMT, highlighted the company’s specialization in handling oversized goods, surpassing the limits of traditional containers.
In the last 15 years, SMT has successfully transported more than 78,000 new trucks from China to Mexico and South America, maintaining an impeccable record regarding cargo integrity. The company has strategically adapted to the growth of commercial volume generated by Chinese brands gaining ground in Latin America.
Currently, SMT transports heavy vehicles from prominent brands such as Shacman, FAW, Foton, Xiamen Golden Dragon Bus, and Sitrak, with routes covering from the East and West of Mexico to the West Coast of South America and Central America. Sarabia emphasizes the importance of maintaining a constant frequency of operations, with departures every 10 days from Tianjin, China, to the port of Manzanillo, Mexico.
In light of global challenges and the possibility of tariffs from the United States on Chinese vessels, Sarabia reaffirms SMT's position as a carrier, with routes covering key ports in Latin America, such as Guatemala, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Chile, with durations of up to 13 days.
With a future-oriented vision focused on sustainable growth, Sea Marine Transport will continue investing in the expansion of its fleet, the opening of new routes, and strengthening its operational infrastructure. The company also maintains a commitment to mobilizing exports of recognized manufacturers from Mexico to southern continental countries, with vessels equipped with specialized cranes for loading and unloading of machinery and heavy trucks.
